George Marsden

George M. Marsden (PhD Yale University) is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame. He is the author of Fundamentalism and American Culture: The Shaping of Twentieth-Century Evangelicalism, 1870-1925 (Oxford University Press, 1980), The Outrageous Idea of Christian Scholarship (Oxford University Press, 1994), and Jonathan Edwards: A Life (Yale University Press, 2004). His biography of Jonathan Edwards won virtually every major historical prize, including the Bancroft Prize, the Merle Curti Award, the Philip Schaff Prize, and the Eugene Genovese Prize.
