A Global Vision:
Carl Henry, Evangelicalism, and Trinity’s Enduring Impact
Carl Henry left an indelible impact on modern day North American Evangelicalism, significantly influencing Evangelical hallmarks like Fuller Theological Seminary, Christianity Today, and the Evangelical Theological society. He also had a close relationship with Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, to which he left both his single greatest gift and his personal archives.
To recall Carl Henry’s vision, celebrate his life and legacy, and rekindle his relationship to Trinity, the Henry Center hosted an evening banquet to culminate our centennial celebration, featureing keynote speakers D. A. Carson and Gregory Thornbury. More than 130 members of the Trinity community gathered for an evening of fellowship and celebration. We were especially honored to have the presence of William Bates, the son-in-law of the late Carl Henry, and Stephen, Dr. Henry’s grandson, along with Stephen’s wife, Amy.
