interaction from a multiplicity of perspectives leading to more holistic and integrative thinking
Hana Methods
The HANA gathering was intentionally not a conference, but rather a consultation. Unlike a conference where one or several keynote speakers contribute and audience participation is mostly passive, the nature of this consultation was to

Groups work together in a collaboration-building exercise.
While presentations were included as part of the plenary sessions, their purpose was to provide a point of departure for participants to dialogue, learn, and collaborate together in work groups for the greater part of the sessions. Tracks focused on specific areas of ministry and gave opportunity for productive periods of problem solving and prophetic imagination.
Additionally, the consultation was made up of both theologians and ministry leaders and each track was facilitated by a scholar and a practitioner. The hope is that there would be interaction from a multiplicity of perspectives, where rich contextual descriptions would lead to more holistic and integrative thinking about how to deal with issues concerning our church and towards fraternal partnership that enriches the wider North American and global church.
