God and Sinners Reconciled: And Calls Us–yes, us–to Follow
A Sermon on Mark 8:34-38; 10:17-31
Continuing his two-part series (part 1) on God and reconciliation in the gospel of Mark , Greg Waybright expounds Christ’s call to radical discipleship (Mark 8:34-38), a path we can walk down alongside our eternal brothers and sisters (Mark 10:28-31). The hard work of reconciliation first requires that we deny ourselves and pick up our crosses in our pursuit of Christ, submitted to whatever he demands – however difficult. Yet Christ doesn’t leave us without the resources we need to do his work; he provides a family of God in the form of the local church – a family that grows with each new member of our respective communities reconciled to God our Father. This is the framework that guides us as we step into our neighborhoods as ambassadors of reconciliation.
