Wisdom for Dealing with Disappointment
A Sermon on Dealing with Disappointment
Drawing both from his experience working with 20-somethings and his formal academic training in early Christian thought, Dr. Michael Glerup offers some practical guidance to young people who may be disillusioned by what has come before them. The tendency may be to react to this with despair arising from sadness over a lack of progress either in the Christian life or the church. Dr. Glerup offers wisdom from Evagrius, Gregory of Nyssa, and contemporary African church practices. Young people need to persevere with hope, seeing every situation as an opportunity for continual growth, and to see the good that is, giving thanks and anticipating what it will be.
