Leadership

The Henry Center is led by an advisory board consisting of TEDS faculty, denominational leaders, and local pastors. The center is managed by a small team of staff members along with the help of a few student assistants.

    Joshua Jipp, Director

     

    Josh has been Director of the Henry Center since 2023. He is also Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he has served on faculty since 2012. After completing his undergraduate studies at University of Northwestern, he earned an MDiv at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, a ThM at Duke Divinity School, and a PhD at Emory University, where he studied with Luke Timothy Johnson. In addition to numerous academic articles, Josh is the author of multiple books, including Divine Visitations and Hospitality to Strangers in Luke-Acts (Brill, 2013), Christ is King: Paul’s Royal Ideology (Fortress, 2015), Saved by Faith and Hospitality (Eerdmans, 2017), Reading Acts (Cascade, 2018), The Messianic Theology of the New Testament (Eerdmans, 2020), and Pauline Theology as a Way of Life: A Vision of Human Flourishing in Christ (Baker Academic, 2023). He loves reading novels, playing all kinds of sports (especially baseball) with his kids, being outdoors, listening to music, and having great conversations with his wife.

    Matthew Wiley, Managing Director

    Matthew Wiley, Managing Director

    Matt has worked with the Henry Center in various capacities since 2016. After studying theology at Moody Bible Institute, Matt came to TEDS for his Master of Divinity, which he earned in 2019. He is now pursuing his PhD in systematic theology, writing a dissertation on ecclesial division. He is interested in theology for the sake of the local church, and also serves as Director of Youth Ministry and Theological Education at Boulevard Presbyterian Church. His essays, reviews, and poems have appeared in publications such as Christ and Pop Culture, Fathom Mag, Ekstasis, and Mere Orthodoxy. Matt lives in Oak Park with his wife, Ellyn.

    Heather Cordero, Events Coordinator

    Heather Cordero, Events Coordinator

    Heather is from a small town in Illinois and studied Elementary Education at Wheaton College. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling at Trinity in 2006. Before working with the Henry Center, Heather served in Student Life at Trinity for many years, where she directed and mentored students while employing her love of event planning and organization. In her current role, she enjoys creating spaces for learning, cultural engagement, and relational connections. Heather and her husband, Rich, live in Highwood with their two children.

    Shayla Manke, Resident Designer

    Shayla Manke, Resident Designer

    Shayla graduated from Trinity International University with a double major in Business Management and Graphic Design in May of 2021. She was active in student leadership both as a Senior Resident Assistant and the women’s cross country captain. After graduating, she joined the Henry Center team as the Resident Designer where she enjoys creating images and designing printed and virtual materials that bring the Henry Center’s words and thoughts to life. Outside of work, Shayla loves to constantly try new creative hobbies and to go on runs around her neighborhood in Wheaton with her husband, Chase.
